A new larger seven seater version of the popular SsangYong Tivoli has been spied doing the test rounds in Europe. The new car will be featured at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show as the XLV-Air concept which will take design and styling cues from the standard Tivoli and incorporate it to a slightly larger car. Expect this version to make it to India to replace the likes of the Rexton which has not been putting out good numbers in the recent past.
According to sources, the new car will be close to 300mm longer than the standard car, with the extra length being incorporated both in the wheelbase section and in the rear overhang to give more place in the middle row and for the third row of seats. In terms of design however, expect the seven seater version to be very similar to the standard five seater one that is available in Europe as of now.
The engine lineup will also remain the same with two motors available to choose from. The 1.6-litre petrol engine makes 128PS of peak power and 160Nm of peak torque. The 1.6-litre diesel on the other hand makes 115Ps of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque. Both come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox with a front wheel drive or all-wheel-drive option.
